Annual SEND Survey 2024 – Results Now Available
Between September and October 2024, parents and carers across Cumberland, Westmorland, and Furness shared their views on local services as part of our Annual SEND Survey.
- Cumberland: A total of 685 responses were captured.
- Westmorland and Furness: A total of 384 responses were received.

Our full reports for each area are now available to view below. We have ensured that as many perspectives as possible have been included, and all open-ended responses have been anonymized and compiled in the Appendix.
Next Steps
Your feedback will be used to drive meaningful change. Our next steps include:
- Presenting findings to senior leaders responsible for these services at the SEND Improvement Board.
- Sharing the results with all relevant service leads.
- Reviewing recommendations in partnership with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Deep Dive Surveys – Have Your Say!
In response to the survey findings, SENDAC will be conducting deep dive surveys focusing on the top five priority areas identified. These surveys will allow us to gather detailed evidence of exactly what needs to change and ensure we are addressing the most urgent concerns raised by families.
Your continued input is crucial—these deep dive surveys will be just as important as the annual survey, so please keep an eye out and take part!
Ensuring Accountability
SENDAC will submit both the deep dive surveys and the annual report to OFSTED and the CQC during their next SEND inspection.
